The University of Minho (UMinho) guarantees the confidentiality of any data provided by its customers either at registration and/or purchase process.

All the collected data are safely stored and encrypted to prevent losses or manipulation. You may confirm that your browser is secure if the green padlock icon appears or if the site address (URL) starts with https instead of http.

The data collected on this portal will be use for the purposes of processing acquisition of goods or services, communication with users, processing information requests and possible complaints, statistical analysis as well for direct marketing.

Information collected
This portal collects two types of information: voluntary information provided by the customer, which may include personal information such as name, address, email, etc., and data collected automatically through cookies by the portal.

The voluntarily collected information occurs when the customer registers for the portal, by filling in forms, sending emails or sending information in the process of acquisition of a good or service. Although we use security measures to help protect information provided, customers should adopt additional security measures to protect personal information, for example: closing the browser after each use on the portal.

What are cookies?
Cookies are small files with alphanumeric information stored on the hard drive of your computer. These files are required so that the server may distinguish each customer and maintain navigation and usability.

These cookies can only be read by the portal store.uminho.pt and by the customer. Customers can delete cookies stored on computer at any time.

Our Cookie Policy
Cookies used by the UMinho are anonymous, so we do not access the user's personal data. Our cookies are used to enhance the experience of our users and to enable us to analyse portal usage so we optimize the features it contains.

What types of cookies we use?
Session cookies are used by portal UMinho - they allow us to tailor the website to your interests, such as the language in which the site should be presented or keeping the customer authenticated; such cookies are automatically deleted when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies - allow us to remember your information and settings when you visit us in the future. For example, saving a cookie to specify that the customer has knowledge of Cookie Policy; this type of cookies remains on the computer until its expiration date or until deleted by the customer.

This portal uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google to improve the performance of the portal, registering generic information of the received accesses using anonymous cookies for this purpose.
