The international conference Spatial Humanities 26 follows the one organized in 2024, in Germany. The aim is to keep the network of researchers who have been focusing on studying Digital Humanities active.

This conference serves as an international forum for academics and practitioners to share innovations and issues regarding the theoretical and technological influence in spatial humanities research. The conference is open to multiple topics, with special regard to GIS (Geographic Information Systems), immersive technology (augmented reality and virtual reality), story maps, artificial intelligence, digital mapping, deep mapping, social media and networking, and mobile technologies.

The international conference Spatial Humanities 26 will take place from September 23 to 25, 2026, at the University of Minho, Gualtar campus in Braga.
It aims to bring together researchers with representatives from various continents through oral presentations or posters.
On the 23rd, a workshop and a field trip are scheduled for the afternoon, and on the 24th and 25th, parallel sessions, the inaugural conference, and the conference dinner (with an additional registration fee of 50 euros) will take place on the 24th.
